The Hammonasset Chapter of Trout Unlimited is now offering anglers and conservationists everywhere the opportunity to own an heirloom quality patch to proudly display on your vest or jacket. Select either the "Back the Brookie" patch or the "Conservation" Patch.
Both patches are based on an original water color painting by James Prosek. The patch is a beautifully embroidered brook trout made from 17 distinct colored threads, and is a real collectors item.
World renowned CT artist, author and conservationist, James Prosek, has graciously permitted the Hammonasset Chapter of TU to create these strikingly beautiful embroidered reproductions of his original watercolor painting of a native brook trout. Ten percent from the sale of each "Back the Brookie" patch will go toward Trout Unlimited's Brook Trout Conservation Initiatives in the Northeast.
James Prosek has also generously painted an original watercolor of the rare and unusual strain of naturally reproducing Brown Trout that inhabits the Farm River in North Branford, Connecticut. The original has been sold, but prints of this striking painting are available. Select the Limited Edition Print below to purchase. Proceeds of this print sale benefit the construction of a fishway over the Pages Mill Pond Dam in North Branford. This fishway project will compliment efforts to pass River Herring and other diadromous species as well as enhance migration of a variety of fish species including the Farm River Brown Trout.
