May Meeting and Picnic

Please join us for our annual picnic meeting!  We will again meet at QRWA Regional Education Center. Come and meet some of the TIC teachers and have a hot dog and/or burger with picnic fare with us! The picnic will start on 5/11 at 5PM, 540 Oregon Rd. South Meriden.  Come to fish earlier and stay for the picnic and meeting!

This year, our event will be held in conjunction with the CT DEEP’s “Free Fishing Day” and the annual “No Child Left Inside” Event at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, CT.
 
There will be fishing (lead by CARE instructors) and fish related educational activities (organized by the CT State Parks Division).  There will also be fish stocking, fishing, fish cooking, and educational games and activities all focused on fish.
 
DO NOT MISS THIS GREAT DAY OF LEARNING & FUN!
No registration needed!
 
This event will be held at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, CT. The day will start at 9 am and run thru 4 pm. Parents are encouraged to stay for the entire event and encouraged to fish with their children as part of “CT Free Fishing Day”.  Bait, hooks & rods will be supplied to those who need them.

Our April meeting speaker for the Hammonasset Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be Rob Nicholas of Housatonic Anglers.
 
Since 1993, Rob (owner / head guide) has been guiding and teaching the sport of fly fishing to all skill levels from beginner to expert on both the Housatonic and Farmington rivers, as well as some lesser known, smaller streams.
 
The doors will open at 6:30 for food and refreshments, the meeting will start at 7:00 pm.
 
Our meetings take  place at the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, 540 Oregon Road, Meriden, CT
