Informative Presentation for January Meeting! "Dam Removal - The Challenges of Restoring Fish Passage - Opportunities within the Quinnipiac River Watershed "

Phil Moreschi is a partner in the engineering firm of Fuss & O’Neill, Inc., with headquarters at 146 Hartford Road, Manchester, CT 06040, and offices in New England, South Carolina, Virginia and New York. He is a civil engineer with 36 years of experience working in the water resources field, with over 34 of those years in the area of water resources engineering. As the Chief Wetland Engineer at the CT DEP and then the Principal Engineer in charge of Connecticut’s Dam Safety Program he was responsible for establishing a wide range of water resources regulatory policy in Connecticut.,

Phil will talk about Dam Removal in general, the challenges and the measures to address the challenges.  He will provide some case studies to give you a sense of how these projects can vary, and also talk about fish passage on the Quinnipiac and the dams that remain on the main stem and the major tributaries.
