Starting in September our membership meetings will be held at the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association building at 540 Oregon Road in Meriden. We will also be changing the day of our meetings to the second Thursday of the month. This move will provide our chapter the opportunity to partner with QRWA in youth education and environmental initiatives. For 30 years the QRWA has worked to conserve the Quinnipiac River and its watershed through education & outreach, advocacy, science & monitoring, conservation & restoration, and recreation & public access. The QRWA is currently sponsoring two trout in the classroom tanks and has plans for more youth education activities. Another benefit is that their newly renovated building is located on Hanover pond and adjacent to the Quinnipiac River. This will provide fishing opportunities for our members before the meetings. Also the date change will allow our members to attend fly tying classes with the Housatonic Fly Fishermen's Association. At our first meeting on September 11th we will have a presentation on wild trout by Steve Culton. We will have some great guest speakers and programs at our upcoming meetings and hope to see many of you there. Directions to QRWA headquarters: Take route 1-691 west to exit 6 and merge onto Lewis Avenue Turn right onto West Main Street Turn left onto Centennial Avenue Continue onto Oregon Road |
